Cultural Day in Torrevieja
Next Saturday, May 16, 2026, the Torrevieja Municipal Leisure Center will host an exceptional day dedicated to cultural exchange and mutual understanding. This free event, open to the entire community, commemorates Ukrainian Culture Day and is part of the European project Look Inside 3UK, co-financed by the European Union. The main objective of this initiative is to bring Ukrainian culture closer to the public through various artistic expressions, education, and social participation.
Presentation of the "Spanish for Ukrainians" Manual
One of the highlights of the day will be the presentation of the emergency manual "Spanish for Ukrainians." This resource has been designed to facilitate communication and integration for refugees and displaced persons. Jesucristo Riquelme will give the presentation, emphasizing the importance of language as an essential bridge for welcoming and fostering mutual understanding between cultures. This manual will undoubtedly be a valuable tool for promoting the inclusion of the Ukrainian community in Spanish society.
Workshops, Music, and Ukrainian Gastronomy
The program for this cultural event doesn't end with the presentation of the manual. A workshop on traditional Ukrainian crafts will also be held, where visitors can experience firsthand the traditional techniques and representative elements of Ukrainian cultural heritage. In addition, the day will be accompanied by Ukrainian music, gastronomy, and folklore, creating a vibrant and exciting atmosphere.
The event is organized in collaboration with the Torrevieja City Council, UNED Torrevieja, and various social and educational organizations committed to cultural cooperation and inclusion. This joint effort demonstrates the open and multicultural character of Torrevieja, which becomes a vital meeting point for coexistence among peoples.
At the end of the day, this special morning will be an opportunity to learn, share, and discover modern Ukraine through art, communication, and, most importantly, the people who represent this rich culture. The celebration will not only be a festival but also a significant step toward solidarity and the integration of the Ukrainian community in Torrevieja.
